ARRRRGH -- Gremlins in my phone.

My phone isn't working. It keeps saying "call failed" when i try to call out, even though it also claims it's at full connection strength. I tried going outside. I tried going down the street. I tried shutting the phone off. All to no avail.

The Verizon website says to try calling *228 but that call fails too. The website also told me to try "power cycling" -- turn off the phone by taking the battery out. That doesn't help either. If those things don't work the website says to call them. I can't call the Verizon help because my phone doesn't work.

Anyone have any suggestions???

Can you receive phone calls? Also, I suggest borrowing a phone from someone else to call verizon.

You could also try stopping in at a Verizon store; they might be able to give you a shiny new phone if yours isn't working, and they can transfer all of the contacts that you already have in your phone for you (there is usually a $10 charge for this, but you could be crabby with them and make them do it for free)
